That boy Joel Van Dijk came by one day with a smirk on his face, and a joint in his back pocket. He had his own kind of blues, and it wasn't your daddy's blues no sir. An eclectic brew ripe with knob twists, crafty changes, and his patented shit-chicken-licks with plenty of THAT signature sauce. He landed on this planet to wage a war of his own brand, equipped with an artillery of soul. But it wasn't without some adversity, some severe controversy from the opposing forces. The laws of tradition, if you will, did not bare well in his favor. He wanted a change, and not everyone was ready for what he had to say. He would do anything to get their attention, as he had the voice and answers they desperately wanted to hear (I know I was!). He turned to the blues to spread his gospel, reaching deep in his nostalgic pockets and using it's "bend on modern to ear" to get his message heard by the already, ever assuming public. Once he did, and he really did, he had the whole country dancing to his groove. They wanted the blues, and his kind of blues was the perfect sound. (laugh), thanks for listening, take care now.
